Hey y'all! It's Wednesday and you know what that means, Fatshion Faceoff! I'm a bit late today, as I've been so freaking busy lately, but I still wanted to post and join my girlz. Today's pick was a theme challenge chosen by Olivia, and she picked "Lazy Sunday". Here's my take:

cardigan: Michael Michael Kors via ebay

I wore this today, and not on Sunday, but it's totally like the outfits I usually wear on a Sunday if I'm just hanging out at home and being lazy. But this past Sunday I was working on pieces to put in the Metals Club jewelry sale, so I was dirty and being rather unlazy, lol. Whomp whomp! Anyway, you should go see what the other girls are rocking this week, I know I'm about to!

I was recently contacted by Dots about visiting one of their stores, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. I've been needing to scout out some longer-length jeggings, and I checked on to see if they carried any (yep, they do!), so I was happy to hop in my car and take a little road trip, lol! ;) And of course, I wanted to share my experience with y'all.

If you haven't heard of Dots before, they are a straight-size and plus-size fashion store, featuring both on-trend pieces and reliable basics. I was excited to see so many rich colors, a hearty use of faux leather accents, and even some wide-calf boots! I took a bunch of pictures of the store and even tried on a variety of things in their dressing room so you guys could see how some of their plus-size offerings look on a size 18/20 body. The try-on pics, as well as my thoughts about the items, are toward the bottom of this post. Hope you enjoy! :)

How great is that faux leather vest? Also, check out the stripe running down the side of the leather trim jeggings.. Those might have come home with me.. ;)
Love the combo of feminine lace with the bold metallic print of this peplum top.
This semi-sheer striped jacket was really cute and definitely a versatile piece. I think it would look great with a pencil skirt and heels or skinny jeans and moto boots.
The peplum top in the upper right was beautiful and stretchy, and even had a layer of tulle-ish fabric under the flounce of the peplum. I've never seen that kind of detail before, but really cute.
Everyone needs a great pair of red pants and funky printed leggings, amirite?! ;)
I definitely, absolutely recommend trying out the denim at Dots. I found the skinny jeans in particular (this black pair and this dark wash pair) very comfortable and super stretchy. You could probably size down, so don't let the number on the tag deter you, for realsies. :)
Can Santa bring me these glitter boots for Christmas? They totes have my name all over them!
Wall of Boots.
Definitely wouldn't have minded coming home with this studded bag, either.. ;)
A 'lil bling never hurt anyone, right?
RIGHT..?? ;)
And as promised, here are some pics of me trying some stuff on in the dressing room. I'll write a little bit below each picture, just to make things easy. :)

I freaking love these camo pants (gray online, both green and grey in-store). I don't know how it happened, but I totally left them at the store and now I'm super bummed. I tried them on in both the 20 and 22, and preferred the 22 because they gave me a smidge more room in the thigh area. I also LOVE that they're just long enough to wear with with flats, and I wouldn't have to roll them up unless I wanted to. I'm gonna go back and see if they still have these in stock because I don't think I can live without them another day, so let's all hope they're waiting for me there so I don't die, mkay?

I'll be going back to Philly for the holidays again this year, so I tried on a batwing sweater (only in stores) with some terry-lined leggings because they both sounded warm. The sweater was ok (I tried a 3X), and found it a bit too batwing-y across my chest/arms and too clingy everywhere else, but it was cozy and soft, and I liked the tab sleeves. The leggings come in both gray and black (both in-store and online), and I'm wearing the gray above. They were perfect and very warm, and fit true to size (I tried the 2X). I like that you can't tell they're lined, so I'll be sneakily warm and people will wonder why I'm all like, heck yeah lets go play in the snow at Valley Forge for hours and hours in the biting cold wind, y'all! Lol!

Ok, how pretty is this jacket, you guys? I really like the ponte material with the faux leather accents, and I might have to go back for this bad boy as well. We. Shall. See. It wasn't overly stretchy, though, and even in a size 20 (I usually can get away with a 16/18 in tops/jackets), its a little bit snug on my arms. Definitely size up in this one if you give it a try.

Another gorgeous top! I really loved the combination of the lace with the metallic accents, and I'm not gonna lie, totally felt like Wonder Woman in it. Dunno why, cuz I don't think WW wore black and gold with lace and a peplum, but that's her loss, ya know? Anyway, this top (only in stores, it seems) is super stretchy, and I probs could've sized down if I wasn't too lazy to get redressed and grab a 1X to try, but such is life. Also, these black skinny jeans are a-MAY-zing. We talked, we laughed, we held hands, and then I took them home with me. ;) I tried them on in a 20, for reference.

Ok, so this outfit was a total leap out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to try something new. I think this is also the first time I've flashed so much midriff at y'all, and I'll admit, it looks pretty cute. I liked this crop top and skirt set because A) you can wear them together so it looks like a solid dress, B) you can wear them as separates and mix/match with other fabulous pieces, and C) they're both super stretchy (I tried the 2X) and the top had a cute criss-cross detail on the back. Quite a deal on only one hanger, if I say so. All reasoning aside, though, I couldn't bring it home with me as I knew I probably wouldn't get much wear out of them, separates or not.

Another awesome crop-top-skirt-combo, especially with the faux leather panel on the skirt and the accents around the waist. Even the mesh on the top is cute! I really wasn't crazy about the fit or color on me though once I tried it on (again, in a 2X). However, I could totally see some of you fab babes rocking it out! The two outfits above are only in stores, but I found this one and this one online that are also cute.

Cute. Swingy. Stripes. All the necessary things required for an I've-Gotta-Have-This-Dress-In-My-Closet moment. A girl can never have too many stripes in her life, right? Wait.. nevermind, don't answer that.. ;)

If you haven't been to Dots or shopped with them online, I definitely encourage you to give it a try. Everything is very affordable and on-trend, but I do wish their sizing ran higher so all my plus-size girls could have a great experience like I did. Hopefully Dots will get that sorted out soon. That being said, a lot of the pieces are stretchy, so you should give them a chance just in case. Never hurts to try, y'all! ;)

Thank you so much, Dots, for letting me visit your store and giving me the VIP treatment. Everyone was so nice and helpful, and I had a wonderful experience. I will definitely be visiting again soon!

belt: Torrid
jeans (on bogo sale!): c/o Torrid
bag (similar for less here, here): Mulberry via Netaporter
boots (similar): Duo

I don't think that I've written yet about these jeggings that were gifted to me by Torrid after FFFW, and I really wanted y'all to know how great they are! They're super stretchy (you could probs size down a size), very pigmented, and totes comfy. I just wish they were longer! A 29" inseam isn't ideal for me (I'm 5'7"), and I'm pretty sure they'll only work with flats as cropped jeans or tucked into boots. Either way, I'm grateful to have received them (thank you Torrid!), and they make me realize how lacking I am in the dark denim jeggings department, lol. Luckily, they're Buy One Get One half off right now.. Very tempting! ;)

Anyway, my apologies for being so behind on posting my take of the last Fatshion Faceoff, but here it is! Finally! Yay! If you've somehow missed the other girls' posts from almost two weeks ago (sheesh I'm more behind than I thought!), you can check them out below:

GAH I can't believe it's been, like, two whole weeks since I posted on here. I'm sorry, y'all! Things have been busy and I had an art show and midterms and all sorts of nonsense that I had to take care of. Art school is hard, you guys. I'll try to be better about posting, at least for the Fatshion Faceoffs. And yes, I know I'm behind on those, but the plan is to catch up sometime this weekend. Anyway, here's an outfit I wore a while ago, when the leaves and the weather started to turn. Lemme tell ya, I was super stoked to finally get a chance to wear my favorite boots!
